Admin trying to create an environment to execute innovative ideas of young entrepreneurs | KNO

Srinagar, Jun 29 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha Saturday said that the administration was trying to create an environment wherein it will execute innovative ideas of young entrepreneurs proactively with the support of government in several departments. Speaking during the National Seminar on ‘Role of Academic-driven Startups in Developing Economy of J&K’ here in NIT Srinagar, Sinha as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “I would like to say that in the technology and non-technology sectors, there are many opportunities for young entrepreneurs.” He said, “The administration is trying to create such an ecosystem wherein better ideas and its executions can be done proactively with the support of government in the departments like tourism, health, handlooms, logistics, horticulture, handicraft and IT enabled services.” The LG further said that the purpose of the conference was to create such an environment that will help in transformation of socio-economic and economic-growth in the higher education campuses through various innovations. Meanwhile, LG's office on its micro-blogging platform X said, “I believe Startups are powerful instrument to bridge the gap between universities and industries. The Startups have also been able to meet the two important objectives- employment generation and profit generation.” (SIC) “Academic-driven startups have the potential to transform our economy by fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in educational institutions. This initiative will encourage Universities/Colleges to invest in future and nurture the talents for impactful innovations,” it reads. It also said, “My message to future Startups entrepreneurs is to focus on 'Problem First' and not ‘Product First’ so that your ideas can accelerate the process of Viksit Bharat and also encourage entrepreneurial spirit among young students.” (SIC) The LG’s office further said that the main objective of the initiative is to create an environment to inspire, empower and connect academia and industry and mentor the students to lead startup ecosystem—(KNO)
